What if we didn’t do “church” on a Sunday??
In 2018 we had a crazy idea… What if instead of gathering the church for worship, we scattered the church for service? So, that’s what we did. On a Sunday morning, we sent our parishioners away with a pair of work gloves, safety glasses, and a hard work ethic and served nearly a dozen homes in the Putnam area.
We’re going to do it again!
On September 8, 2019, Green Valley Crossing is launching a small army of workers into our town to serve people like you. Here’s what we’re looking for:
You must own your home
It must be your primary residence
You exhibit hardship that prevents you from performing your own work (i.e., elderly, disabilities, financial hardship, complete lack of time due to serving others, etc.).
We’re able to complete ground-level projects such as mowing, raking, weeding, minor home repairs, power-washing, minor tree trimming, window washing, etc.
Things such as gutter cleaning are to be done on the first floor, not to exceed 10 ft in elevation.
You need to be within a 15 minute drive from downtown Putnam, CT.
What kind of projects can we do?
We’re able to complete “ground level” projects such as:
Yard cleanup
Raking
Weeding
Cleaning
Pressure washing
Small painting projects
Minor repairs
When will you do them?
We’re launching the church out on September 8, 2019 from 9 am to 12 pm. All projects must be able to be completed in that time frame. Also, you must be present the entire time that we’re on your property for liability reasons.
We must have your completed liability form in hand at Green Valley Crossing by August 18th. Site visits will be completed between August 19th and September 1st.
Receipt of an application does not guarantee that we will be able to meet your needs with our limited volunteer base, but we will do our best to serve you well!
